Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Tuvo is a sole proprietorship based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. "Tuvo", "we" and "us" mean the business that runs the Tuvo app and tuvodate.com. Contact: support@tuvodate.com.

2. Who can use Tuvo

You must be at least 18 and no older than 29, able to make a binding agreement, and allowed to use Tuvo under the laws where you live.

You can't use Tuvo if you've been convicted of a violent or sexual offence, if you're required to register as a sex offender, or if we've removed you from Tuvo before.

3. Tuvo is in beta

Tuvo is new. Features may change, stop working or be removed, and there may be bugs. If you send us feedback or ideas, we can use them to improve Tuvo without owing you anything.

4. Your account

Give accurate information, keep your login secure, and only have one account. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it.

5. Your safety

Tuvo doesn't run criminal background checks, and the optional selfie check doesn't confirm someone's identity or intentions. You're responsible for your interactions with other people, on and off Tuvo.

Meet in public, tell a friend your plans, get yourself home, and never send money to someone you met on Tuvo. If you're in danger, call 911. Report anyone who breaks our rules.

6. Rules

Follow our Community Guidelines. Don't harass, threaten, scam or impersonate anyone, don't send unwanted sexual content, don't use Tuvo to sell things or for any business, and don't try to break, scrape or misuse Tuvo. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, voice prompts, text and messages you post. You give Tuvo permission to store, display and format them so Tuvo works (for example, showing your profile to other users), until you delete them or your account.

Only post content you have the right to share. Hype Squad answers come from your friends. You choose which ones show on your profile. We may hide or mask content that breaks our rules.

8. Tuvo+ and payments

Tuvo+ is optional. It's free for beta testers, and no payment details are needed. When the beta ends, nothing is charged automatically.

If Tuvo+ becomes paid, you'll see the price, the billing period and what's included in the app before you buy. Payments are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions.

There are no hidden fees. Refunds are covered in our Refund Policy.

9. Tuvo Spots

Tuvo Spots are independent cafés and restaurants. Perks are offered by them, once per date, while their daily limits last, and have no cash value. Tuvo isn't responsible for the food, drinks, service or premises of a Tuvo Spot. Cafés that join sign a separate partner agreement.

10. Tuvo's name and app

Tuvo™, the Tuvo logo and the two-ring mark are trademarks of Tuvo. A Canadian trademark application is pending. The app, website and their design belong to Tuvo. Please don't copy them or use our name or logo without written permission.

11. Ending your account

You can delete your account any time in the app. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. Some sections (like 13 and 14) still apply after your account is closed.

12. No guarantees

We work hard to make Tuvo safe and reliable, but it's provided "as is". We don't promise you'll find a match, that other users are who they say they are, or that Tuvo will always be available or error-free.

13. Limits on our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, Tuvo isn't responsible for indirect or consequential losses, or for the actions of other users or Tuvo Spots, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $50 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

14. Laws that apply

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Alberta, unless your local consumer law gives you the right to use other courts.

15. Changes

If we make important changes to these terms, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Tuvo after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
